Laboratory & Medical Services Highlights
Exhaust Booth Filter Testing
As Your Compliance Department, we provide a wide-range of laboratory tests designed to save you money and reduce your risk of penalty when you need it. For example, the disposal of exhaust booth filters is heavily regulated, and can be expensive. But sometimes a test of your exhaust booth filters will reveal that they don’t qualify as hazardous at all, eliminating the need for costly disposals.
Vapor Air Sampling & Monitoring
Providing respirators at your repair center or department is crucial, but it’s only one of your required steps. You’ll also want to conduct an analysis of the organic vapor concentrations in all your general work areas. If you don’t, you might be unknowingly exposing your employees to harmful chemicals, or providing respirators that don’t provide adequate protection.
GMG EnviroSafe will help you conduct an air sampling and monitoring analysis through the use of a passive diffusion personal air sampling monitor. You’ll be able to measure your work environment so you can adequately protect your team, and your business, from a substantial liability.
Respirator Medical Evaluation & Fit Test
If any of your employees are required to wear a respirator to perform their job responsibilities, they must first complete a medical evaluation. This is an OSHA Respiratory Protection Standard, and will determine if they have medical clearance to wear a respirator throughout the day.
GMG EnviroSafe will supply you with the tools you need to complete the medical evaluation process, as well as your recordkeeping requirements for medical approvals.
The following is just a brief sample of the job functions that OSHA requires a respirator for:
- Spraying Solvent-based Paint
- Spraying Water-based Paint
- Spraying Primer
- Sanding Primer
- Mixing Body Filler
- Sanding Body Filler
- Sand Blasting
- Mixing Solvent-based Paint

TCLP-STLC-TTLC for Hazardous Waste Determinations
The generator of hazardous waste has cradle-to-grave responsibility for the waste, even if they use a licensed waste hauler to transport and dispose. Before you put sanding dust, paint containers, solvent wipes, daubers or other material into the trash; our team can assist conducting hazardous waste determinations on the material with TCLP-STLC-TTLC testing, and we will generate a written report of the findings.
Grade D Breathing Air Testing
Periodic testing of compressed breathing air for paint booths is a critical component of an effective and compliant respiratory protection program. We can assist you with the correct testing equipment, capture a non-pressurized sample of compressed breathing air, and provide a written report to determine if the supplied air is within Grade D specifications.
Isocyanate Exposure Monitoring
The National Emphasis Program from OSHA on isocyanate exposure brought these chemicals into focus for the collision repair industry. Our support team can review the materials that you are spraying, identify the isocyanates in your workplace, and make recommendations on wipe sampling or air monitoring. A written report will be provided, documenting the exposure level to isocyanates at your facility.
Particulate Exposure Monitoring
While conducting a job hazard analysis for your respiratory protection program, monitoring for particulate and dust exposure can provide guidance on when and how to use a respirator effectively. Whether you are sanding, grinding, blasting or welding; our team can assist in getting this monitoring completed, and we will generate a written report on the findings.
